OPERATIONS AND INFECTION CONTROL
Renovations and additions require a plan that will keep the surrounding areas operational throughout the project,
as well as ensuring infection control throughout the construction process. We work with your design team
and hospital staff, including facilities and safety personnel and epidemiologists, to develop phasing plans
that successfully meet these challenges.
DOCUMENTATION AND ANALYSIS
Older hospital facilities are often added to or renovated many times during their lifespan. However, good documentation is difficult to find that thoroughly assess the impact of this work on
the mechanical and electrical infrastructure. We can provide a complete analysis and documentation of
the infrastructure systems to ensure a ‘whole building’ or ‘whole system’ approach to future projects. The benefit to you is the opportunity to plan for large capital expenditures,
such as expansion of chiller, boiler, or emergency power generation systems.
BUDGET AND TIMELINES
Renovations also bring the unique challenge of ensuring that unknowns are uncovered during
the design phase. Caveo is experienced in providing a thorough survey of the existing conditions,
then working collaboratively with the facility owner to minimize their risk before construction. The
end result is the opportunity to ensure your project stays within budget, on schedule and supports the
business objectives of the facility.
FLEXIBILITY
Things change. One of the most important healthcare design considerations is flexibility. This includes
flexibility in space design as well as the mechanical and electrical systems that support each space.
We work with you to carefully identify and evaluate opportunities to build future flexibility into each
design, as allowed by project budget constraints.
